About Counselling

“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.” Carl Jung

We all experience times in our life when we need support. Counselling sessions are a safe and confidential space where you can talk about your thoughts, feelings, life events and behaviours and learn how to manage those better.

As an an integrative counsellor I draw on a range of approaches including: Person centred, Gestalt, CBT Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic, Existential and Relational. I am also a Cognitive Hypnotherapist and NLP Master Practitioner.

My work as a counsellor has involved supporting people with a wide range of issues including:

• addiction
• depression
• anxiety
• stress
• panic attacks
• low self-esteem
• coping with anger
• bereavement
• pet loss
• domestic abuse
• relationship breakdown
• long term health conditions, such as a cancer.

I have clinical experience in the private and charitable sector and the NHS. I am an Anxiety UK approved therapist trained to work with anxiety disorders and a volunteer counsellor for Richmond Borough Mind. I have worked with a wide range of issues including anxiety, stress and depression, addictions, building self-esteem, developing personal strengths, building assertiveness skills, reducing work stress, finding work/life balance, addressing anger issues, working through trauma, bereavement and loss, coping with long term and chronic illness and pain.

Fees for counselling: from £65 for 50 minute session

I offer both short and long term counselling. Short term counselling is useful for immediate crisis and Long-term (open-ended) counselling allows further exploration and discovering appropriate ways of coping with problems and feelings.

I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to see if you feel comfortable with me and the way that I work, and to discuss how therapy may benefit you and you can ask any questions you have and together we can decide whether my therapeutic approach is right for you. There is no obligation or commitment needed to attend any further sessions.
